Rashtriya Military School Travel Guide and Tourism in Chail, Himachal Pradesh
Rashtriya Military School, Chail (formerly known as Chail Military School), is a residential institution situated in Himachal Pradesh India. Its origins trace back to the establishment of King George's Royal Indian Military School in Jullunder (now Jalandhar), Punjab, shortly after World War I. The school's foundation stone was laid by King George V in February 1922, and it began operations in 1925 with the aim of providing a Western-style education to prepare young cadets for future roles in the military. In 1960, Rashtriya Military School relocated to its current scenic location amidst pine and deodar forests within the expansive 110 km² Chail Sanctuary, at an altitude of 2,144 meters. Here, cadets, often referred to as Georgians in honor of the school's founder, undergo rigorous training and academic studies. Read more on Rashtriya Military School.
