Shree Ram Sharnam Ashram in Dalhousie, Himachal Pradesh is a very special place located in Upper Bakrota, more than 8000 feet above sea level. This holy site, also known as Param Dham, sits on a hillock where Swami Satyanand Ji performed severe penances in 1925, living on very simple and minimal food. The Ashram, surrounded by deep valleys and mountains, offers an incredible sense of purity and peace. Visitors can hear the unique chirping of a mysterious bird that sounds like it's saying "Ram! Ram!" To reach the Ashram, one must travel by road to the foot of the hill and then walk or trek about 300 meters up a ramp and steps.
This Ashram holds great spiritual significance as it is the place where Swami Satyanand Ji reached spiritual enlightenment on July 7, 1925, during Vyas Purnima Day. It was here that he received the Maha-Mantra of "Ram" and was divinely instructed to sing and repeat the name of Ram. The beauty and tranquility of the Ashram are beyond words, making it a peaceful retreat for devotees and visitors seeking spiritual solace. The site is still vibrant with the blessings and presence of Swami Ji, and every corner of the Ashram tells a story of his divine journey and teachings.
