Shrikhand Mahadev Peak, also known as Shikhar Kailash, is a significant Hindu pilgrimage site located in the Nirmand sub-division of Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, India. It is revered as the abode of Lord Shiva and his consort Goddess Parvati. This peak is part of the Panch Kailash, a group of five sacred peaks in the Himalayas, with Mount Kailash being the most renowned. Shrikhand Mahadev stands tall at an impressive height of 18,570 feet, featuring a 75 feet tall naturally formed Shivalingam at its summit.

The trek to Shrikhand Mahadev Peak is renowned as one of the toughest in India, requiring a high level of physical fitness and stamina. It spans approximately 32 kilometers one-way from the base village of Jaon, reaching up to the challenging elevation of 18,570 feet. The trek begins gently, passing through scenic landscapes of dense deodar forests and serene streams. As trekkers ascend, the trail becomes more demanding, with steep uphill stretches like the 'Dandi-Dhaar' or Stick-Height, where the slope reaches an angle of about 70 degrees. Along the route, there are several base camps such as Thaachru and Nain Sarovar, providing essential facilities like meals and tent accommodations. The journey culminates in a final stretch through rocky terrain to reach the holy summit, where the majestic Shivalingam and a mountain dedicated to Lord Kartikeya await, offering a breathtaking view and a sense of spiritual fulfillment.
