Barog Railway Station in Barog, Himachal Pradesh, is a quaint railway station nestled in the Solan district. Situated at an altitude of 1,531 meters above sea level, it serves as a significant stop on the UNESCO World Heritage Site Kalka-Shimla Railway. The station, with its railway code BOF, is located 42.14 km from Kalka and is under the jurisdiction of the Ambala railway division. Originally built in 1903 as a 610 mm wide narrow-gauge railway by the Delhi-Ambala-Kalka Railway Company, the line was later regauged to 762 mm narrow gauge. Barog Railway Station is the first halt between Kalka and Shimla, offering a scenic and historical stop for travelers. It is known for its picturesque surroundings and the short halt allows passengers to enjoy snacks at the railway's canteen. The station is adorned with a beautiful paint job on the tracks, enhancing its charm.

The station features two main wooden structures, one housing the offices of the station superintendent and the station master, and the other serving as the railway's rest house. Built-in 1902, a year before the railway's inauguration, both structures are designed in the cottage style, reflecting the colonial architecture of the time. The rest house was originally constructed for British officials traveling to Shimla during the days of the Raj, allowing them to acclimatize to the weather before continuing their journey. Today, both structures remain preserved in their original form, with the same roof, pillars, windows, and even bathrooms, which still use Manchester-made taps and wash basins.
