Dhingu Mata Temple is a renowned religious site located in Sanjauli, which is part of Shimla in Himachal Pradesh. Legend has it that the temple was built at the request of a local king named Raja Dhingu, who dreamt of the goddess asking for a temple to be constructed in her honor. The king fulfilled the goddess's wish and built this beautiful temple, which has since become a significant pilgrimage destination. The temple complex includes two smaller shrines, one dedicated to Lord Shiva with a large Shivling, and another to the goddess Devi. Built in the 19th century, Dhingu Mata Temple is perched on a hill about two kilometers from Sanjauli. The temple is known for its eternal flame that has been burning continuously for many years, attracting visitors who come to witness this unique phenomenon. To reach the temple, visitors need to climb more than 300 steps from Sanjauli Road, but the effort is rewarded with a breathtaking view of Shimla city from the temple premises.
