In the beautiful Sujanpur area of Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, there is a special place called Maryada Purushottam Ram Dham, built to celebrate the life and journey of Lord Ram. Here, you can experience the entire story of the Ramayana through amazing sculptures that bring important scenes from the epic to life. Each of the seven main chapters—Balakand, Ayodhyakand, Aranyakand, Kishkindhakand, Sundarkand, Yudhkand, and Uttarkand—is represented in great detail, allowing visitors to connect with the values and teachings of Lord Ram. The Dham, built at a cost of 55 lakhs, also features a peaceful lake where visitors can enjoy boating, and there are swings for children to play, making it a perfect spot for families to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
Recently, a huge statue of Lord Ram, standing 40 feet high, unfortunately fell due to strong winds during a storm. Thankfully, no one was hurt, and efforts are already underway to replace it with an even stronger statue, thanks to the generosity of the sculptor. Despite this, the Dham continues to attract hundreds of people every day, who come to take in its spiritual atmosphere, learn about Lord Ram’s life, and capture memories with their families. Union Minister Anurag Thakur, who inaugurated the Dham, praised the effort behind its creation and shared hopes for further beautification to promote religious tourism in the region.
