St. Michael's Cathedral Catholic Church in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh is a beautiful church that takes you back to the Victorian era, as it dates back to 1886. The church's interiors are decorated in the typical French-Gothic style architecture, adding to its charm. It has the capacity to hold at least 400 people for a service and features a nave, a vestry, a confessional room, a baptistery room, and two aisles. The church is also known for its magnificent organ, considered the finest in North India.

The cathedral was once known as the 'Ripon Place' because it was still under construction when Lord Ripon was the Viceroy of India from 1880 to 1884. It was the first Roman-Catholic church built in the hill station and was designed by Henry Irwin, the Superintendent Engineer and Architect of PWD in Shimla. The church's beauty, grandeur, and mirror work make it a sight to behold, attracting devotees from all over India. Located just below the district court, St. Michael's Cathedral is an important landmark of Shimla, exuding a sense of spirituality that invites tourists to light candles or lay flowers amidst its gilded walls.
