The Akhand Chandi Palace is located in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, and is also known as the District Library Chamba. This magnificent historical building boasts a rich heritage dating back to around 1747-1765 AD. Initially built by King Umed Singh, the palace was later renovated by King Sham Singh with the help of British Engineers. This grand structure stands as a pride of the town, surrounded by many ancient temples and historical buildings. The ruling dynasty handed over the palace to the state Government, and in 1958, it was converted into a college while maintaining its heritage status. A portion of the building was designated as the District Library in 1959, adding to the cultural and educational significance of the palace.
