Tashigang is a small village in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh and nestled in the Sutlej river valley near the India-Tibet border. Akhand Chandi Palace in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh


The Akhand Chandi Palace is located in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, and is also known as the District Library Chamba. This magnificent historical building boasts a rich heritage dating back to around 1747-1765 AD. Initially built by King Umed Singh, the palace was later renovated by King Sham Singh with the help of British Engineers. This grand structure stands as a pride of the town, surrounded by many ancient temples and historical buildings. The ruling dynasty handed over the palace to the state Government, and in 1958, it was converted into a college while maintaining its heritage status. A portion of the building was designated as the District Library in 1959, adding to the cultural and educational significance of the palace.
