Champavati Temple is located in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh and is a beautiful and important pilgrimage site built by Raja Sahil Varman in memory of his daughter, Champavati. Situated near the Treasury building and Police Post, this temple stands out with its unique Shikhara style architecture, which is reminiscent of Nepali designs. The temple's impressive stone carvings and the large wheel on its rooftop make it different from other temples in the region. According to legend, Champavati, the daughter of King Sahil Varman, was a deeply spiritual person who often visited ashrams and temples. The king, suspicious of her actions, followed her to a sadhu's home, where both she and the sadhu mysteriously disappeared. A divine voice then told the king that his daughter was taken away due to his distrust and instructed him to build a temple in her honor to prevent future disasters in his kingdom.
