Chicham Bridge, standing tall at a staggering altitude of 13,596 feet above sea level, is a remarkable feat of engineering and a major attraction in Lahaul and Spiti, Himachal Pradesh. This Bridgee holds the title of being the highest suspension Bridgee in Asia, connecting the villages of Chicham and Kibber. It stretches over a deep gorge known as the Samba Lamba Nallah, which is about 1000 feet deep. Before the construction of the Bridgee, the villagers had to rely on a dangerous ropeway to cross the gorge, making the Bridgee a much-needed and welcomed addition to the region. The construction of the Bridgee, completed in 2017 after 15 years, has significantly reduced the travel distance between Kaza and Losar by 40 kilometers.
