Churdhar Peak Trek in Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh

Churdhar Peak Trek is an exciting adventure that takes you to the highest peak outside the Himalayan range in Sirmaur district in Himachal Pradesh. The peak, also known as Churi-Chandni Dhar (Bangles of snow ridge), stands at just under 12,000 feet and is surrounded by a 56 square km forest sanctuary, making it a delightful trekking destination. The trek can be undertaken from May to November when the snow melts and the trails are accessible.

The trek begins from Nauradhar in the Sirmour district, which is the most popular starting point. The first part of the trek is a moderately tough climb through rocky and muddy terrain, followed by a more leisurely climb through thick forests of pine trees. Along the way, trekkers can enjoy the beauty of the meadows and the soothing sound of the cedar and pine trees. The last leg of the trek is a steep hike on moraine, offering panoramic views of the lush green forest and the Greater Himalayas in the background.
