Hidimba Devi Temple, also known as Dhungari Temple, is a famous ancient cave temple located in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. It is dedicated to Hidimbi Devi, the wife of Bhima, a character from the Indian epic Mahabharata. The temple is nestled amidst a cedar forest called Dhungiri Van Vihar at the foot of the Himalayas. Built in 1553 CE by Maharaja Bahadur Singh, the sanctuary is constructed over a large rock that was worshipped as an image of the deity. The temple is unique in its architecture, with wooden doorways, walls, and cone-shaped roofs, reflecting the distinctiveness of its presiding deity, Hadimba.
