Koksar is a village in the Lahaul and Spiti District in Himachal Pradesh state , Northern India. It is located about 19 km from Rohtang Pass and 7 km from the North Portal of the Atal Tunnel Rohtang. Koksar is the coldest place in Lahaul, often covered in snow during the winter. In summer, the Public Works Department (PWD) Rest House and local eateries open for business. Koksar is known for its beautiful mountain scenery, perfect for hiking and enjoying panoramic views. The village is 340 km from Shimla, the state capital, and 70 km from Manali. Nearby villages include Tailing (7 km away) and Sissu (13 km away).

Koksar has a unique culture and population, closely related to Tibetan and Indo-Aryan heritage. The people of Koksar, known as Lahaulis, often have fair skin and hazel-colored eyes. Their language belongs to the Tibetan family and is similar to Ladakhi and Tibetan languages. The family structure is extended, with a senior male, called the Yunda, as the head, and his wife, the Yundamo, as the oldest female authority. The clan system, or Rhus, is important in Koksar society. Reliance Jio started 4G services in the valley in 2019, before which only BSNL Mobile Network was available.
