The Sheetla Devi Temple is located in Una district of Himachal Pradesh, is dedicated to Goddess Durga, and sits near the famous Chintpurni Devi Temple in Bharwain. It is a revered site where devotees flock to seek the blessings of Goddess Sheetla Devi for prosperity and success. Perched atop a hill, this temple is among the nine Devi temples in the region. The locals are known for their kindness and hospitality, adding to the welcoming ambiance of the temple. Legend has it that Goddess Durga incarnated as Katyayani, daughter of sage Katyayan, to combat the demon Jwarasur, who spread incurable diseases. Taking the form of Sheetala Mata, she cured the victims, and with the help of her friend Batuk, ultimately defeated Jwarasur. Another tale involves Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, who were concerned about Jwarasur's terror. To combat this, Parvati transformed into Sheetala Mata, known for her cooling powers, and Lord Shiva took the form of Bhairav to defeat Jwarasur in a wrestling match.
