Standing at an elevation of 6,000 feet, this ancient temple, built by King Meru Verman in 650 AD, showcases the stunning hill-style architecture of the region. As you approach, you’ll be greeted by the temple's charming wooden carvings and a beautiful metallic idol of Devi, crafted by the master artist Gugga. The temple is simple yet striking, with walls made of stone and wood, and a sloping slate roof supported by richly carved wooden posts that form a pathway around the sacred sanctum. The main idol inside, a 4 feet 6 inches tall brass statue of Shiv Shakti Devi, holds a lance, a lotus, a bell, and a snake, each representing power, life, aether, and death.
