Sujanpur Tira Fort, also known as Katochgarh Fort, is a historic palace-fort located about 22 kilometers from Hamirpur town in Himachal Pradesh. It sits near the border of Kangra and was constructed in 1758 by Raja Abhay Chand of the Katoch dynasty, which ruled Kangra. This fort served as the royal residence for the Katoch dynasty for over a hundred years. In the early 19th century, it became the home of Raja Sansar Chand, a patron of the Kangra School of miniature paintings. The fort includes five temples and a hall called Baradari, where the court of Sansar Chand was held.

One of the main attractions of Sujanpur Tira Fort is the Gauri Shankar Temple located within its walls. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shankar (Shiva) and Goddess Parvati. It features a large number of wall paintings that are intricately executed. The entrance to the fort is quite impressive, adorned with signs of excellent wall paintings. The fort holds significant historical and cultural value, showcasing the rich heritage of the Katoch dynasty and the artistic legacy of the Kangra School of painting.
